2025 Stag Sale
Lot 1

COMMENT:
Well, very similar to last year! One of the stars of the show is produced by
mating our top 2yr olds over our yearling hinds, and the Forbes bottom line
strikes again!
This stag is unreal! He is quiet and cruisy, has beautiful velvet
that is round all the way up to perfect tops! 070/22 was a 6.30kg 2yr old that
was entered in the Rising Stars Velvet competition and used as a sire here last
year.
This pedigree is full of top Dams, 7182 is the G Dam of Lot 5 last year
and 3316 is the Dam of Lot 8 (2019), which went on to cut huge weights for
Nat Holmes.
Top Shelf.
Lot 2

Comment:
375/22 has produced a beautiful head of velvet. The beam is round all the way
up and tops are perfect. Craftsman was purchased from Dalmore Deer for his
perfectly round tops, which were backed up by his blue blood pedigree.
Dam 7302 is the Dam of 9433, who is the sire of two stags in this catalogue -
Lot 15 and Lot 18
She is also the Dam of 634/21, who we sold as a yearling hind and have
purchased back again!
Top stag with a top pedigree.
Lot 3

COMMENT:
The first Kryptonite son to market, and what a ripper! Beautiful dark velvet on
a lovely stag!
Brexit Dam's are appearing a lot on the bottom line of our top stags, then back
to a solid Wotdonis Grand Dam - makes this guy solid in every way.
Grand Dam 4344 has an 8.2kg 5yr old in the velvet herd.
Lot 4

COMMENT:
This is a huge dark velvet stag with very round tops!
Lazarus over a top hind! 4320 is the Dam of Lot 14 last year, 595/21, who was
sold to Pamu. We used 595/21 here as a sire at 2yr old, so we rate this Dam
highly.
At 9.20kg at 3yr, this stag will mature to huge velvet weights
Lot 5

COMMENT:
Gorgeous velvet on a fantastic sire with a bombproof pedigree!
Omar over one of my favourite top producing hinds! 3071 is the Dam of Lots
4, 9, and 12 last year! All three of her ET sons made the sale!
When you put a hind of this calibre over another sire and she still produces a
top sale stag, it really does show her worth and heritability.
Top shelf!
Lot 6

COMMENT:
320/22 has such a powerful head with long, thick beam and perfectly round
tops. He has a small snag on one side which wasn’t there at two, but his velvet
keeps catching your eye!
Great sire which won’t disappoint.
Lot 7

COMMENT:
Huge velvet on a lovely stag. 287/22 is a later cutter and has just snuck in to
the catalogue.
His velvet has big basals but a powerhouse of grunt. Very dark with correct
tyne placement.
The dam side also has a tonne of power and style with dam 9250/19 being
sired by Cruse 341, that won the National 3yr comp.
Lot 8

COMMENT:
125/22 has a very correct, dark velvet that always catches your eye.
Dam 8238 is a proven performer with a 6.80kg 4yr old and a 9.20kg 5yr old in
our velvet herd.
We are extremely pleased with the size and style of our Kryptonite sons
coming through.
Lot 9

COMMENT:
This stag was too good not to put up as a 4yr old. 570/21 cut 5.90kg of SAP @
3yrs and has gone on to cut an eye catching 8.00kg 4yr head with beautiful
round tops. Dam 7043/17 arrived from our top hind 3071/13 that I purchased
from Vanessa Crowley. She was in fawn to Tarentino and 7043/17 was the
offspring. 7043/17 has daughters in the breeding herd and a 10.20kg 5yr old in
the velvet herd.
Top sire with velvet that will hold its tops!
Lot 10

COMMENT:
We have decided this stag is too good not to put up as a 4yr old. He cut an
extremely tidy 6.20kg @ 3yr and was very nearly catalogued.
The tops on 753/21 are hard to come by and another year under his belt has
proven that he will hold them with age!
Lot 11

COMMENT:
132/22 is a huge Kryptonite son! Massive beam in his velvet, and at 8.65kg is
cut very early.
132/22 does have a split bez tyne on one side that was not there as a 2yr old.
Dam 8170/18 has had a 3yr old son to Forbes that cut 6.20kg at 3yr.
Cruisy temperament — great sire!
Lot 12

COMMENT:
337/22 has a very exciting pedigree. Craftsman is producing extremely clean,
tidy velvet with perfectly round tops.
Dam 6432/16 is a daughter of top hind 4161/14, who has produced two sons,
one cutting 7.70kg at 3yr, and another 9.00kg at 3yr.
337/22 is a huge stag with a great temperament.
Lot 13

COMMENT:
Once again, very correct dark velvet, which is very characteristic from both
Patriot and Mortar.
Round beam and round tops with perfect tyne placement. Just what the
market wants.
Dam 6221/16 has a 6yr son in the velvet mob that has cut 11.00kg at 5yr.
Great sire.
Lot 14

COMMENT:
Lazarus/Brexit combo is proving to be a hit. 308/22 has very correct dark
velvet with great tyne placement. His Dam 9219/19 has a full brother that just
cut 8.20kg at 4yr in the velvet herd.
Grand Dam 5006/15 is the Dam of Lot 8 in the 2021 sale that cut 6.45kg at
3yr, and Great Grand Dam 3446/13 is the Dam of multiple sale stags, plus has
daughters that have multiple sale stags.
Great lineage.
Lot 15

COMMENT:
We are lucky to have 396/22 on farm as he got out through a slip with his Dam
during the cyclone. He was tagged and DNA-matched later than his peers -
needless to say, we were grateful to see their return!
Sire 9433 was a top stag we used at 2yr, and we’ve seen some fantastic
progeny. 9433/19’s Dam 7302/17 is the Dam of Lot 2 (375/22) in this sale!
Lot 16

COMMENT:
188/22 is a gorgeous Patriot/Gump combo. Heavy dark velvet that is very
correct.
A full sister to 188/22 was sold as a yearling hind (Lot 43) in our 2022 sale,
which shows the level of females that are being sold!
Lot 17

COMMENT:
215/22 has produced a lovely long head of velvet. Great distance between bez
and trez, with no snags or extras. Very cruisy big stag.
215/22 is a full brother to Lot 25 last year that cut 6.65kg @ 3yr.
Consistency in the breeding here.
Lot 18

COMMENT:
021/22 is very special in the fact that he is the first 3yr on offer with Lazarus
on the bottom line!... And what a great bottom line with the Grand dam 857/11
being the dam of 336/20 (Lot 16 2023).
Home bred Stag 9433/19 was used for sire duties as a 2yr old. He also has a
great pedigree with his dam 7302/17 being the dam of Lot 2 in this sale!
Lot 19

COMMENT:
372/22 has produced a heavy head of velvet. A little unbalanced but nice
bottom tynes and very clean velvet.
Grand dam 677/11 has a daughter, 8170/18 who is the dam of Lot 11 in this
sale which cut 8.65kg @ 3yr!
Lot 20

COMMENT:
099/22 is a great Lazarus son with clean velvet that will mature well.
Great tyne placement with clean, even velvet.
Lot 21

COMMENT:
Absolutely gorgeous velvet on 191/22 - exactly what the market desires.
In my experience, it’s heads such as these that do not falter as they age.
Omar has left his mark by leaving dark, correct velvet on big-bodied stags,
and 191/22 is no exception.
Lot 22

COMMENT:
044/22 is sired by 9243/19 (Lot 4 2022) who cut 8.70kg @ 3yr and was
purchased by the Wilson family of Kanui Station.
044/22 has very dark heavy velvet that has very correct tyne placement.
044/22 is anchored by a solid Forbes/Wotdonis bottom line.
Lot 23

COMMENT:
257/22 was an absolutely beautiful 2yr old, cutting a stunning 5.30kg. He was
used for sire duties and is a lot later in his velvet due to this.
At time of cataloguing he has just shown his trez tynes and is looking
promising. His dam 9035/19 is a daughter of Cruse 341 that won the National
3yr velvet comp. Grand dam 454/13 is the dam of 603/21 that was in the rising
stars as a 2yr with a 5.60kg head, cut a late 9.00kg last year (after Sale) and
has just cut a massive 12.40kg @ 4yr.
Lot 24

COMMENT:
121/22 is not yet cut at the time of cataloguing, but he is showing his trez tynes
and looks too good to not roll the dice on! His 2yr pic is a very tidy 5.70kg and
was very nearly used as a sire here!
121/22 velvet is extremely clean with strong bottom tynes and great
placement.
The solid bottom line of Even Steven/T-Rex combo has been a great success
here.
