FARM PHILOSOPHIES
FEED THEM WELL
We farm on Class 6 Hill country which is an environment which the Deer thrive. That said Hawkes Bay can be a harsh climate and we make sure that we feed our stock well so that they can express their genetic potential to give you the confidence to invest in our genetics.
SIZE DOES MATTER
This statement is true in both Velvet and Body size, but it does not mean we compromise quality and style of Velvet and constitution and temperament in our Breeding stock! Forest Road Farm prides itself on producing traditional, competition winning style Velvet.
FARMING FOR THE FUTURE
Breeding isn’t a short game and we are constantly evolving our business and our breeding and management decisions so that we stay relevant to our clients needs. We have undergone a massive amount of environmental protection work and have a lot more planned for the future. This creates a position which will allow the next generations to market whatever products to whoever and wherever in the world due to the platform which has been created for them to do so.
