Well another year has passed and Mother Nature keeps changing it up!  We have had a dry late Summer/Autumn then a mild winter and good early spring then the tap has turned off again.

Although we are short we have maintained control and quality and are really pleased with stock performance, especially our 3 year stags.

With only a handful of 3’s left to cut at the time of print, we are averaging 6.6kg (first cut) out of our 90 3 year stags!

This year’s sale stags average 7.2kg with beautiful style symmetry and weight. When selecting our top 25 sale 3 year olds, they have to be not only beautiful and heavy velvet heads, but also they be of sound temperament and a good body constitution.

We are super pleased with how our sires and breeding programme have delivered but especially pleased to see the influence of the mighty Lazarus!

Lazarus sons represent 50% of the sire stags we have put up.  It’s also great to see the positive outcomes of our first embryo transfer programme from a few years back with 6 sale stags coming from that programme.

This year we are putting up 30 top yearling hinds most of these are out of young dams so a great opportunity to secure some cutting edge genetics!

We are having continued success from breeding our very best 2 year stags over our yearling hinds and the amount of 3 year sires in this catalogue from this practice is a testament to this.

We are proud of our whole line up but it has taken me a great deal of sleepless nights to decide whether to keep Lot 1 or Lot 2 as a sire.  So the only logical solution was to put them both up for sale but to have a decent reserve on them.

We are really passionate about what we do and we love breeding deer.  This year we have got on board with deer select to give you (and ourselves) more data to make your breeding decisions easier and more informed!
